WHITEWATER, WI –Toppers Pizza, an eclectic franchise pizza delivery brand, is excited to announce the 2013 Franchisees of the Year, a duo that continues to stand out among the pizza pack. Phil and Denise Downing are Toppers veterans who have showed a commitment to excellent operations, staff development, sales growth and overall franchise company growth with their three locations in La Crosse, WI, Onalaska, WI, and Mankato, MN.

As one of the first Toppers franchise owners, Denise and Phil Downing have a long history with the company, which began when they were Toppers delivery drivers themselves more than seventeen years ago. Opening their doors to the La Crosse community in 2002, the couple expanded and opened another location in Onalaska in 2006, and they recently purchased the Mankato location in 2012.

“It was an honor to win this award three years in a row, and we attribute our success to all of our employees who have helped us win it,” Denise says. “Our turnover is incredibly low because our people are passionate, and this award is an amazing achievement for everyone involved in all three of our stores.”

Along with its ability to tap into the most influential demographic, millennials, Toppers has made a name for itself as an innovator of eclectic and unique menu items.
